Bird Friendly Window Installation Service

Our goal is to help you safeguard your windows to prevent birds from
flying into them. The method we follow to select and apply an effective collision prevention product on your window is consistent with standards recommended by FLAP Canada and supported by current scientific research.

What to Expect

To help you prevent window collisions, we stick to these best practices: 

  • apply markers on the exterior of the window

  • cover the entire window surface edge-to-edge

  • use materials that provide high visual contrast against the background when viewed from outside

What's Included

Our process for bird-proofing your window(s) is simple:

  1. We consult with you and review specifications for the window(s).

  2. We schedule an in-person appointment (masked, physically distanced).

  3. We clean the exterior surface of the window(s).

  4. We install bird collision deterrent materials (available through us

      or you can provide your own).

   5. We provide a 1-year post-installation warranty with your invoice.

Our Pricing

Your bill includes three components:

  1. Material charges

  2. Labour

  3. Applicable surcharges

Materials We are currently offering installations of Feather Friendly DIY tape, available in white or black.

The material cost of a retrofit will depend on the size and number of windows, as well as horizontal spacing of the application. Our material costs are priced competitively to provide you with the best possible value. If you choose to provide your own collision prevention materials such as Feather Friendly DIY, material charges will not apply.

Please note that installations of Feather Friendly DIY tape do not guarantee that the dots will be applied on your window in a perfectly uniform grid. We use rulers and tape to install the dots as close to a grid as possible, but slight variation in the position of the dots may occur. For a perfectly uniform installation, consider using Feather Friendly commercial film.

Labour Our labour costs are billed hourly. The first hour is priced at $110 plus sales tax. Each additional hour is priced at $100 plus sales tax. We will provide a quote based on information you submit when making your appointment, but the actual installation times may vary.

Surcharges may apply to the service if:

  • The address for your appointment is located outside of London, Ontario.

  • The windows are located on the second story of a building or above.

  • Landscaping work such as tree trimming is required to access the exterior of window(s).

Information about applicable surcharges will be made available upon initial consultation.
